The system evolves by proposal, not by drift. Anyone in the company can raise a change; the brand team stewards what ships.
Proposing a change
- 01 · Name the gap. What were you making, and what did the system not cover?
- 02 · Show the need. A real example beats an abstract request — attach the artifact.
- 03 · Propose, don’t patch. Suggest the token, rule, or pattern that would solve it for everyone, not just your file.
- 04 · Brand team review. Accepted proposals are documented here first, then rolled out — the site is always ahead of the artifacts.
Ownership & versioning
Every page carries a status, an owner, and a last-updated stamp in its header. The system versions as a whole (currently v1.0): breaking changes to tokens or lockups bump the version and ship with a migration note on this page.
FAQs
- Can I use the magenta for body text? No — it’s an accent and the Flo mark’s colour. Text is the ink scale.
- Where do I get the logo? Foundations → Brand assets. Every lockup, SVG and PNG, one click. Never screenshot it.
- The system doesn’t cover my case — can I improvise? Ship the closest documented pattern, then raise a proposal so the next person doesn’t have to improvise.
- Who approves new pages? The brand team; propose through the process above.
